Lake Toba is listed in the Guinness World Record as the largest volcanic lake in the world, with a length of about 100 kilometers long, 30 kilometers wide, and a depth of up to 505 meters. In the middle of Lake Toba there is an island called Samosir Island, hometown for the indigenous Batak tribe who are still very common with their cultural identity and their ancestors’ heritage building.
Although the name Lake Toba has already gone worldwide, still it did not make it as a prime tourist destination in Indonesia. This matter has recently comes to the government’s attention and they encourage theLake Toba’s tourism authority to make Lake Toba as one of tourist destination, besides Bali.
